While improving your language skills you can explore Cambridge, and take the chance to experience and enjoy English culture.
The beautiful King's College Chapel, one of the best examples of Gothic architecture in Europe, is just one of the many famous college buildings you can visit in Cambridge during your course.
Our students are even working on their English when they are not on dry land! Cruising on the river on a punt is a lovely way to see 'The Backs', where the colleges border the river.
Art lovers will be happy to explore the wonders of the Fitzwilliam Museum, which houses paintings by Rembrandt and Rubens, as well as antiquities from Egypt and many other treasures.
The University Botanic Gardens are a lovely setting for a walk while practising your English. They house an immense collection of trees and plants of all kinds.
There are not many experiences more English than taking a Cream Tea in the afternoon. You can sit by the river speaking English with your teacher while enjoying a cup of tea and a scone!
If you are here for more than a week, there are some interesting places to visit which are a little further afield:
Ely, once the home of Oliver Cromwell, with the oldest cathedral in Britain which dates from the 11th century and features a spectacular Octagon tower.
Newmarket, the home of British horseracing, where you can watch the racehorses being ridden through the town and on the practice tracks, or even go to the races.
Before, during, or after your stay, there is the opportunity to visit London, which is less than an hour away from Cambridge by train.
